The scene depicts a kneeling man and goat with wheat sheaves and classical design trim. The images are elongated, reminiscent of early Christian art.
In Greek mythology, the satyrs were rustic fertility spirits of the countryside and wilds (or Pan, the the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, nature of mountain wilds, and rustic music). Actors dressed as Satyroi formed the choruses of the so-called Satyr-plays which were performed at the festivals of the god Dionysos in ancient Greece.
Pendant measures 1&3/8" and weighs 6.1 grams. Nice large gold jump ring to the top.
