Beautiful antique snake ring has a turquoise headdress and two tiny twinkling rose-cut diamond eyes.
This terrific piece dates to roughly 1900. Modelled as a coiled snake, the 14K-15K gold is a lovely warm rose-yellow colour. A good width at about 5/8" wide, and subsequently a good weight--6.8 grams. A very pretty 3 mm round genuine turquoise cabochon is set on the serpent's head, and two rose cut diamonds make up the eyes. Beautiful work, a great antique piece.
Ring size is 5&1/2-5&3/4. It is in excellent condition for its age, with normal antique wear. There is a vertical line on the inner band that looks like a re-sizing mark (does not go through to the outer back). The band is stamped "15ct" and also "585". Also, what appears to be a maker's mark.
