Here's a very finely made designer duck pin with a large pearl belly!
A 13-mm, silvery-white semi-baroque pearl is responsible for the feathered friends' chubbiness, but it gives the pin a gorgeous look. In excellent condition with a solid gold backing, the pearl has beautiful lustre and iridescence, with green, pink and blue overtones. I don't see any blemishes on the surface.
Made from 18K yellow gold, the duck is dimensional and has wonderful detailing, including webbed feet and flapping wings. The head is set with 4 round-cut glittering diamonds, while its tail contains 3 diamonds. A terrific cornflower blue sapphire is the eye.
Pin measures 1" tall by 7/8" across. Weight: a good 8.8 grams.
Fastens with a trombone-style clasp, which dates the piece to the 1950's. Excellent condition. No problems at all, just the slightest amount of wear from age and use. Back contains a designer mark that is mostly obscured, and "750" for 18K gold.
