One of the oldest modified diamond cuts, the marquise cut was born in the 1700’s when King Louise XIV ordered a diamond shape be created to complement the smile of his mistress, the Marquise de Pompadour. Or so the story goes.
The elongated diamond shape looks fabulous on any hand for a variety of reasons, mainly because the slender stone seems to lengthen the fingers, makes them appear elegant. This fabulous EGL certified diamond is excellent quality; at 0.81 cts. in total, the brilliant stone is VS2 clarity, I-J colour, which means oodles of white sparkle!
The prong-set gem is set in solid platinum with a matching 14K white gold band (note the two protective platinum prongs at top and bottom). Appraised value is $4,850 U.S. dollars.
The diamond measures 10.30 by 4.90 by 2.70 mms. Rises up about 6 mm from the top of the finger. Ring size is 7, and it can be re-sized to fit. Weight: 3.5 grams.
Excellent condition, no damage or wear to the stone. Inner band is stamped ".81, 950 Pt, WIC7." Comes with a EGL USA certificate.
Gender: Female, Age Group: Adult, Color: W/gold, platinum, diamond, Size: 7
