June is the month for pearls!
This elegant pair from Denmark features two cultured 4-5 mm akoya pearls suspended from what can be best described as 14K yellow gold slender leaf shapes. Two gold leaves attach to the sides of each gold-covered pearl for a terrific sleek, modernist look. The lovely iridescent white to off-white pearls have beautiful lustre!
The drops attach to substantial gold hooks (not flimsy) fixed with pretty small round gold discs at the front. Such a classic, elegant look! Pair hang 1&1/2" long by just under 1/2" wide. Total weight is 2.5 grams.
Excellent condition, no damage that I can see, just light wear plus fine surface scratching on the gold. One hook is ever-so-slightly bent, but you can't notice it when the earring is on. Both hooks are stamped with maker's mark and "585" for 14K gold; the drops are also marked "585" and "Aa.M," for Copenhagen goldsmith Aase K. Margrethe Madsen, 1954-1984.
