This wonderful vintage pin by Binder Brothers of New York is beautifully blue!
Set with beautiful blue gemstones, that is--watery blue moonstone cabochons, and one cornflower blue sapphire.
The pin itself is modelled in the shape of a flower blossom complete with a 14K rose gold bloomed flower and stem, and yellow gold leaves and bud. The 2.5 faceted sapphire is a striking cornflower blue and set in the centre of the detailed daisy-like flower. Encased in gold, both moonstones are absolutely stunning. Very slightly milky, they have excellent clarity and a gorgeous schiller or blue sheen. The largest stone is 1 mm tall by 7 mm across while the smaller is 8 mm tall by 6 mm across.
Pin measures 1&1/4" tall by just over 1" across. Weight: 4.2 grams.
Excellent condition. The pin is in remarkable condition, with no wear to any of the stones!
Binder Brothers opened their doors in New York around 1920 and are still in business today, as far as I know. Their maker mark, two"Bs" inside intertwined circles, is stamped on the back of the pin along with "14K." (The pin at the rear is also marked 14K.).
