This fabulous diamond ring is a knock-out!
It contains a breathtaking 1&1/2 ct. pear-shaped diamond that sparkles brilliantly with every turn of the hand. The twinkling diamond is surrounded by 83 small full-cut, pavé-set diamonds that frame the large diamond and extend past the shoulders. They measure between 1 mm and 1.5 mm. If you've always wanted a larger diamond, this ring has it and more!
The stones are set in a gleaming platinum mount that measures about 16.3 mm from the top and tapers to 5 mm at the sides where the diamonds end. The shank is approx. 4 mm and tapers to 2.5 mm at the back.
Ring size is 6&3/4-7, and it would not be easy to re-size due to the pavé-set stones. Weight: 6.2 grams.
The ring comes with a 2011 appraisal that estimates the replacement value to be $17,500. Please see photo #7.
NOTE: I had my own gemologist look at the ring and, although he agreed with the appraised value for 2011, he thought the findings to be overly generous in both carat weight and colour/clarity.
The size of the large diamond, he said, is closer to 1.52 cts.; the clarity is more like SI2, and the colour, H-I. In his opinion, the combined carat weight of the small diamonds is approx. 1.50 cts., and the colour ranges from G-L. Total carat weight of the ring, according to him, is closer to 3.00 cts. He says the value of the piece would be approx. $19,500 today. I am including this information because I am not a gemologist and I would rather err on the side of caution.
The ring is in excellent condition, with no damage or missing/chipped stones. Very light wear to the band. Could benefit from a professional cleaning. It is not marked but professionally tests as platinum. The diamonds have all been professionally tested.
Lay-away is available; reasonable offers are welcome.
A stunning piece!
