Fabulous colourful pin from the 1920's is a stunning piece!
The wonderful pin has been modelled into the shape of a pheasant. Hand-painted in vivid colours of enamel, the solid silver bird is beautifully detailed and covered in sparkling paste stones. The round-cut exceptionally sparkly stones are amber-orange, emerald green, and medium to dark blue. The enamel, meanwhile, is greenish blue, sky blue, black, yellow and red. I'm not sure where the pin was made but I would guess Europe. It's a fairly large pin at 2&1/2" across by 7/8" tall. Weight is 7.7 grams. Fastens with a very early locking clasp.
Condition is excellent. No enamel loss, just light wear in keeping with age and use. Two stones have tiny nicks seen under a loupe.
Back is stamped "STERLING."
