This is a wonderful antique gold pendant designed in typical Arts & Crafts style.
Crafted in rare 15K yellow gold, the round piece features a lovely open floral motif with a pretty baroque pearl drop. I believe the flowers are fuschias and the pearl is meant to be the little white filament(s) that hang below the flower blossom. Each flower is embellished with a bezel-set real gemstone: amethyst and peridot. Lovely addition!
The Arts & Crafts style was a reaction to growing industrialization of Victorian Britain. At its height from 1880-1910, It took its inspiration from nature, and many of the patterns and jewelry were based on the flora and fauna of the British countryside.
Pendant measures 1&1/4" from the jump ring by just over 3/4" across. Weight: 5.6 grams.
Excellent condition. Very light wear, pearl is slightly worn. Tiny nick to the bottom at the back. Not marked but metal tests as 15K gold.
