Superb pair of Russian earrings have beautiful sparkle!
These classic earrings are gorgeous drops that date to the Soviet era (1922-1991). This pair was made in approx. 1955-69, and bears the Soviet hammer and sickle mark. They are typical Russian style, crafted from 14K (583) rose and white gold. Each earring is set with an 0.18 ct diamond to the top. These sparkling round-cut stones are housed in white gold buttercup settings. Below, elegant millgrain-edged white gold drops, each set with three glittering diamonds, dangle beautifully. Total carat diamond weight is approx. 0.70 cts. The backings, made in the classic latch style, are 14K rose gold.
Superb workmanship and the earrings are stunning on! The diamonds are all beautiful quality--extremely white and bright with no inclusions or carbon spots seen under a 30X loupe.
Measure 1&1/8" long; weight is 5.0 grams.
Excellent condition. No damage, just light wear. No damage to any of the stones. Earrings are stamped with the hammer and sickle mark as mentioned, with a cyrillic "O" to the left and "583" for 14K gold to the right. Also, maker's mark (?) See last photo.
