Vintage late 1960s Nu-Mode shoulder purse featuring round and oval black plastic beads over matching satin is unworn deadstock with the original tag attached.
The 9.5” x 5” purse has a zip top closure under its envelope flap. The 31” strap—a combination of beads and goldtone metal chain—can be converted to a double handle, by unhooking it on one side, threading it through the ring-finding, and then reattaching the hook to the opposite ring.
Label reads “The Lively Look: Nu-Mode, dans le vert”, with a detachable reordering stub and a handwritten price on the opposite side. The president of Nu-Mode was Sam Rapps, a Montreal-based manufacturer of handbags since the late 1950s who expanded into clothing production in the early 1970s.
Measuring 9.5” wide by 5” tall and 1” deep, this “lively looking” purse is in very good, unused condition with minor finish wear to the loops, one of which is slightly misshapen.
