Vintage 1940s white moonglow Lucite dress clip in an inverted triangle shape is comprised of three rows of fused half-circles in descending quantities: Four, then three, then two. A clear Lucite “plate” serves as the base for this arrangement. The glowing Deco-esque geometry that results makes for a high impact accent for your warm weather dresses and blouses.
No maker’s mark. The underside of the pronged clip mechanism is stamped “Pat. 1852188”, for the patent granted in April 1932 to its designer, one Elisha Phinney of Attleboro, MA.
Measuring 2” high and 1 ¼” across the top, this dress clip is in good, clean condition. The clip mechanism is secure if slightly off center (this will not affect wear), and there are 2 faint tea colored spots on the back, under the clear plate (photos #9 and #10).
