Vintage 1960s Delizza & Elster/Juliana goldtone and rhinestone stemmed flower brooch in tones of topaz brown and yellow features the company’s characteristic mix of artistic design and quality construction.

The flower’s head consists of topaz rhinestone navettes, slightly offset in their placement for greater naturalism and surrounding a headlight-sized aurora borealis finish chaton. Set with tiny jonquil chatons, the stem is topped by D & E’s signature wired over element, which is set with 4 AB chatons and one, larger, citrine chaton. All stones are prong-set

The back of the brooch exhibits typical DeLizza & Elster construction, with a mix of open-backed and closed settings and a joint-and-catch pin assembly.

Unsigned, as were all D & E’s Juliana pieces, the many color and style variants--but consistent design elements--of their flower brooches are shown on pp. 305-307 of Ann Pitman’s “Juliana Jewelry Reference”.

Measuring 3” tall and 1.5” across the flower head, this lovely D & E brooch is in excellent condition.
