Vintage mid-1940s pale copper brocade tie features a swirling pattern in gold, purple and white that evokes the ripples in rock-strewn, shallow water.

Tipped in pale gold satin, the tie has no labels other than one on the back of the small blade asserting its “Resilient Construction”. (Resilient construction has its roots in the patented method of tie construction Jesse Langsdorf patented in 1923, which became standard after Langsdorf sold the patents in the late 1920s, and which tie manufacturers continued to boast of in labels and advertising into the 1950s).

Though no fabric content is given, I believe this tie to be a silk or silk-and-rayon brocade.

Measuring 49” long and 4” across the widest part of the front blade, the tie is in excellent condition with no issues other 2 faint smudges on the tipping of the front blade (photo #).
