Vintage c. 1960 black silk skinny tie from Cutter Cravats features a machine embroidered pattern of tiny green diamonds.
The all-over small designs on rich fabric evoke the many imported silk foulard ties of the early 1960s, and fit right in with the “Continental” trend in menswear. According to a November 1961 article, tiny gold tie tacks or ones set with a cultured pearl were the “traditional companion” to elegant ties like this.
Labelled “All Silk, Cutter Cravats”, the tie measures 53” long and 2.5” across the front blade.
Excellent condition with no flaws to note.
