Vintage mid-1920s marigold silk, or more likely, silk-rayon blend stockings from the legendary Wanamaker’s department store of Philadelphia are unworn deadstock and in pristine condition.
The medium-weight, semi-sheer silk has reinforced toes and heels and a double layer of fabric at the top. They are stamped “Wanamaker” in blue and “200/8 ½” on the sole and heel of the one stocking; the 200 needle count is a higher gauge which would have lent the stockings added durability.
Measurements are as follows: 8.5” toe to heel, 28” heel to top,7” around ankle, 10” around calf, and 12.5” around top.
These unworn stockings in a stunning (and unusual) shade are in pristine condition.
