BIOGRAPHY:
David Denby was born in Guildford, Surrey in 1946.
Between 1968-1971, Denby studied Painting at the Royal Academy Schools, where he was awarded two silver medals. Here, his tutors included Edward Bowden, William Scott, Patrick Caulfield, Peter Blake; and, most important in the development of his figurative style, of his mastery of light and perspective, Fred Dubery - much loved by his students.

David Denby was the winner of The Royal Academy Portrait Prize in 1979, and has been regularly exhibited - in 1989, 1993 and ‘94, and in 2015 - at Chappel Galleries, Essex.
From 1994 through to the present day, David Denby has exhibited across London - including at The Royal Academy and the Fine Art Society. His works have also been shown across Scandinavia, Sweden’s Galleri 1+1, between 1972-95; as well as across the Far East and Australia. His works have been bought - often very promptly - across every continent of the world.
