BIOGRAPHY: Born in Brooklyn, New York, Frank Arcuri is a modern master of classically inspired Still-life paintings. His works sing with richness of colour, an interplay of light and shadow, of form and texture; portraits of the ripe beauty - the divinity - of nature, just as those so admired of the Dutch Golden Age; all executed with an expert skill and precise technique.

Frank Arcuri trained and earned his degrees from New York’s School of Visual Arts and the Arts Students League, where he has since instructed. Arcuri continues to teach painting in oils today from his atelier in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, imparting not only his artistic skills, method, approach and appreciation; but also a spirituality and wisdom which bring a joy and enrichment to both his works and the students who learn from him. “The painting should have something mysterious in it. The viewer should have to think. In the shadow, the more mysterious you make it, the better.” “Don't paint the pear, paint the light on the pear. Get it so it sings” (Frank Arcuri.)

Frank Arcuri has been widely published and exhibited, most notably at Eleanor Ettinger Gallery in New York City, the Catto Gallery, London England; and in Hong Kong. He has received awards from, amongst others, the Bianco Gallery, the Phillips' Mill Art Exhibition and the Salmagundi Club where he won the Jesse B. McReynolds Memorial Award. His works continue to be collected, both publicly and privately, worldwide.
