Mounted in a baguette frame (thin wood strip around the sides of the painting) - the rest of the apparent frame is part of the painting!). Frame dimensions: 24.5in x 31.5in (62cm x 79.5cm).
An astonishing painting by the leading contemporary trompe l'oeil painter in Britain (Trompe L'oeil: literally, "deceives the eye"), offered at an exceptionally low price for a work by this artist, whose gallery prices are circa £6,500 GBP (approximately $10,850 USD) for comparable works.
PROVENANCE: Provincial estate sale, UK.
CONDITION. In excellent condition. One tiny scuff at the upper left edge but it is so small it is barely worth a mention. Note: The small dark marks in the background are painted - part of the trompe l'oeil effect to give texture to the surface upon which the ceramics are apparently mounted.
