Flintshire Technical College.
He first set up a workshop, known as the David Frith Pottery, in 1963 in Denbigh, North Wales where he was joined by his future wife, Margaret in 1966. Initially working in high-fired earthenware, he moved on to oxidised stoneware in 1972 when he built a wood fired kiln, experimenting with reduction glazes. He installed a gas-fired kiln in 1974 and then changed entirely to reduction firing. In 1974 The Friths bought the Malt House, a semi-derilict mill in Denbigh, converted it to a workshop and home and changed the name to Brookhouse Pottery.
He has had numerous exhibitions and his work is in many public and private collections including: The Victoria and Albert Museum, London; University of Aberystwyth, Wales; University of Bangor. Wales; Bolton Museum and Art Gallery; Preston Museum and Art Gallery; Stoke-on-Trent Museum and Art Gallery; Crafts Council, London; Bill Ismay Collection; Museum fur Angewandte Kunst Koln. Germany; and The Ceramic Art Messe Collection, Mashiko, Japan.
