This 16 ½ inch tall composition toddler, circa the mid 1930s, was manufactured by the Alexander Doll Company to represent one of the Canadian Dionne Quintuplets, Cecile. The doll is in very good condition with minimal crazing and no repaint. She has sleep eyes and molded and her original human hair wig. The sleep eyes do have some crazing. Cecile is marked in raised lettering on the back of her neck and her back, “Alexander.” She wears her original costume that includes a light green cotton batiste dress with matching bonnet, cotton underclothing, shoes, and socks. The dress retains the original crisp finish but does have a few tears to the fabric. I believe these are shown in the photos. The dress retains the original Madame Alexander cloth label. The doll has a metal pin that reads, “Cecile.” I believe that the pin is original but it could be a later replacement.
