This 13 inch tall Alice in Wonderland composition doll, circa the 1930s, was manufactured by the Alexander Doll Company. She is in all original condition with no repainting or repair to the composition and minimal crazing. Alice has an all composition body with the rarer swivel waist. She has sleep eyes and painted facial features with her original human hair wig in original set. She wears her original Madame Alexander costume with the original cloth tag. The doll is marked in raised lettering on her back, “Wendy-Ann//MME. Alexander//New York.” The same model doll is photographed in Linda Edward’s “Doll Values: 12th Edition” on page 10. The photographed doll sold at the Richard Withington, Inc. auction for $900. This doll comes from a private collection that is just now being offered for sale.
