This 16 inch tall doll, circa 1931, was manufactured by Effanbee. The doll is part of the Patsy family of composition dolls. This doll is known as Patsy Joan. She has a five piece composition body. Her head has molded and painted hair, sleep eyes, and a closed mouth. The doll is in very good condition with virtually no crazing. There is some crazing to the eyes. She is marked, in raised lettering on her back, “Patsy Joan.” Patsy Joan wears a red and white cotton dress with matching bonnet. These appear to be factory clothes and probably original to the doll. She also wears vintage red shoes and white socks. This is a particularly nice example of this doll from the Patsy series.
