This 10 ½ inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, was manufactured by the German firm of Gebruder Heubach. The bisque shoulder head measures 3 inches tall. The shoulder head has separated from the original, rather crude, cloth, bisque, and composition body. It would be quite easy to attach the head to the body. If the future owner wishes for me to do this, I will be happy to do so. The doll retains her original gauze chemise. The head is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The back of the head is incised, “1860//Germany” with the square Heubach mark. The character head has a glazed bow around her molded and painted hair with intaglio eyes and a closed smiling mouth. I know that this doll is often reproduced but I guarantee this to be an original antique doll. She would be so cute with a little cotton dress. I will leave that to your future owner.
