Kestner Bisque Head Doll Mold 167
This 16 inch tall doll, circa the late 19th century, was manufactured by the German firm of Kestner. She has a bisque socket head with an open mouth with teeth and blue glass sleep eyes. The back of the head is incised, “Made in// 6 ½ Germany 6 1/2 //167.” The head is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. She retains her original plaster pate with one small wig pull on the back of the head. The original ball jointed body retains the original finish and is stamped in red, on the hips, “Germany.” This doll has the typically wonderful bisque of the Kestner dolls. With a wig and costume, she would be a lovely doll deserving a place in any antique doll collector’s home.
