This 18 inch tall doll, circa the late 19th century, was manufactured in Germany by J.D. Kestner. She has a bisque socket head with a closed mouth, brown glass sleep eyes, and her original plaster pate. The brunette mohair wig may also be original. The head is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The back of the head is incised, “made in//Germany//128.” Miss Kestner has her original ball jointed composition body with the original finish and is stamped in red on her hip. The doll wears antique white cotton pantaloons, an antique blue dress, and a white pinafore. The clothing does have some repairs and old tears but looks lovely on this doll. I love this old dress but this doll would be a lovely size to have a new wardrobe gathered or sewn by her new owner. Completing her costume, she wears wonderful antique leather heeled boots.
