This 27 inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, has a bisque socket head and a composition ball jointed body. The head has a closed mouth and brown glass set eyes. She has a cardboard pate and an old human hair wig. The head is incised, “K*R//Simon & Halbig//117//68.” This character doll is often called Mein Liebling. The head was manufactured by the German firm of Simon & Halbig while the doll was sold by Kammer & Reinhardt. The head is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs except for a short old (1 inch long) hairline on the right side of the head starting at the head opening. This is definitely a very old line that is quite stable. The body is in good condition and retains the original finish. Mein Liebling wears white underclothing, a dress that is either old or has been made from old fabrics, socks, and antique button heeled boots.
