This 10 tall wooden doll is called Sarah Morton. According to the cardboard tag attached to the doll, she is "the first in a series of Historical Pilgrim children. She represents a nine year old girl who actually worked and played in the Plimoth Plantation village of 1627. She is dressed appropriately for this time period and is carrying a poppet that her mother lovingly made for her. Sarah is depicted taking a few moments to play with her poppet with a little scarp wool. Sarah's hair style is fashioned from English mohair and is neatly tucked under her white coif. Her arms and legs are wired and can be posed. Sarah's body and head are wood with composition features molded to the face." This series of dolls are "hand made at `Silhouette Farm' located in the New England coastal town of Westport, Massachusetts." The doll is signed and dated by the artist on the left foot, "Mary Michaud 1992."
