These 9 inch tall composition dolls, circa 1936, are dressed in all original Pennsylvania Dutch costumes. The dolls were created by Marie Polack to represent different religious sects of the area. The dolls are jointed at the shoulders and hips. I did not attempt to remove the clothing as I didn't want to disturb the originality of the dolls. This pair, according to the enclosed information, represents the River Brethren sect. The dolls are in excellent condition and still have their original box. The box is not in the greatest condition but is marked, "Pennsylvania Dutch Dolls By Marie Polack Reg.U.S.Patt. Off." What a great little pair of all original dolls!
