This 11 inch tall cloth doll, circa the 1940s-50s, has a molded face with painted facial features. Her cloth body is jointed at the shoulders, elbows, and hips. The doll wears her original costume. She is stamped on the bottom of her left shoe, "Made in India." The attached original paper tag indicates that this doll is from a series of dolls, "Bullock's Dolls from Many Lands." On the back of the tag is the handwritten message, "Kathiawar Merchant's wife very showy." I love the expression on the doll's face hidden under the burka veil. The lady is in excellent clean condition with some age discoloration to the fabrics.
