This 12 inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, was created in Shanghai, China, at the Door of Hope Mission. The head hands and feet are carved of pear wood and the clothing was sewn by the girls of the mission who were sheltered there. The body is stuffed cloth. This farmer doll has a woven hat and a bamboo raincoat. He is in good all original condition.
