This unique little 5 ½ inch tall doll, circa the early to mid 20th century, is woven of a reed type material that would normally be used to create a basket. Her facial features are delineated through the use of different color reeds. The hair, also created from reed, is styled in two braids. This is such an interesting piece of folk art. It definitely required great talent to create a doll out of such an unusual material. The doll has charm and would be a great addition to a folk art of primitive doll collection.
