Joan & Lynette Antique Dolls and Accessories
Lynette Gross or Joan Farrell, Carmel or Indianapolis, IN
This 14 inch tall doll, circa the 1930s, was created by Georgene Averill for her Madame Georgene, Inc. company. The doll has a pressed mask face with painted facial features, real eyelashes, and yarn hair. The doll wears her original Russian costume of cotton and felt. She even retains her original black boots. I do not believe the clothing has ever been removed from the doll. She has a cloth body that is jointed at the shoulders and hips. She also still has part of her original cardboard label identifying her as "Russia"//A Product of Georgene Novelties, Inc. The doll is in very good sturdy condition with one minor spot of discoloration on her yellow skirt. She also comes with her Russian flag.
