This 4 ¼ inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, is definitely German in origin. There is a red circular stamp on her back but it is illegible. I believe she was most likely manufactured by Kestner. The doll has a stiff neck and joints at the shoulders and hips with molded and painted blue socks and black one strap shoes. She has molded and painted facial features and hair. The cute little girl has a watermelon smile mouth and side glancing googly painted eyes. She wears her original red crepe paper dress and hat with cotton “fur” trim. The doll is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs that I can inspect without removing the original dress. The stringing is slightly loose but better than too tight and risk breaking the bisque stringing loops. What a sweet pudgy little girl this is and she makes me smile.
