This 3 ¼ inch tall all china Frozen Charlotte doll, circa the mid to late 1800s, was manufactured in Germany. I cannot clearly discern any markings but the doll may have “Germany” incised on her upper back. The unjointed doll, in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, has a blonde molded hairstyle with a band running in the center front decorated by a molded bow at the center. She has painted facial features and molded, but not painted, heeled shoes. The sweet antique dress, with velveteen ribbon decoration, is sewn onto the doll with some melting of the silk fabric. With limited handling, it is strong enough to survive. The doll also wears lace trimmed pantaloons. Since both the dress and underclothing are sewn on and attached to the doll, complete inspection is not possible; however, the hidden areas seem all intact. This is a precious little doll and would be a lovely addition as a child for a French Fashion poupee or a toy for a larger doll.
