All Original Petite German Bisque Head Doll with Darling Composition Ball Jointed Body

This 8 ½ inch tall doll caught my attention the minute I saw her. She is just so intricate and perfect that I could not do anything but pick her up and cradle her in my hand. On the back of the neck of the bisque doll’s head is incised, “B.S.//6/0.” She has her original dark blonde mohair wig in original set with ram’s horn curls over the ears along with glass sleep eyes and an open mouth with two upper teeth. I love the original composition ball jointed body with no repaint and original red paint on the hands to delineate the fingers. I did not remove the shoes and socks as I did not want to possibly harm the original white leather shoes as the right one already shows some wear and damage. This doll was obviously created in Germany in the late 19th or early 20 century. I have not been able to locate identification of the “B.S.” marking but it may be Bruno Schmidt. The head has no chips, cracks, or repairs. The clothing appears to be original to the doll including a white cotton organdy dress with white cotton underclothing decorated with crochet or tatting edging. She also wears her original shoes and socks. It is so unusual to find such small shoes. This doll has obviously not been played with in the past but just stored and treasured in her original condition.
