This 8 inch tall German all bisque baby has the most appealing character expression. The doll is not marked in any way but I believe the baby has to have been created by the German firm of Gebruder Heubach. The baby is jointed at the shoulders and hips. He has googly side glancing intaglio eyes and a round little open/closed mouth. The modeling is so fabulous on this doll that you just want to pick him up and comfort him. He looks like he is just ready to burst into tears at any moment. The doll has starburst type hands, turned up toes, and fat little thighs. He is in excellent condition except for an old hairline at the right elbow. There are some firing lines at the knees that I have also photographed. These do not represent any damage but would have occurred when the doll worried little baby was originally fired. The baby wears a knitted one piece outfit that perfectly complements his chubby cuteness without hiding his fabulously molded body. Overall this doll is one that no lover of character dolls can resist. I certainly could not walk by the baby without picking him up and then I couldn't bring myself to put him down again. Oh well, doll addiction strikes again!
