This 24 inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, is lithographed in oil on heavy fabric. She was originally sold as by the yard fabric and then the seamstress would cut out, sew, and stuff her creation. I am not sure what company printed this particular doll but I do love her face. The coloring is still vibrant with and the doll has great personality. She wears printed underclothing and is large enough to probably wear regular baby clothing. She has a red bow in her hair and printed red one stripe shoes. There is some age discoloration but the doll is quite sturdy and clean. Obviously the original owner named this doll "Irene" as this name has been written on her torso. I think it is great that we know just this small piece of history about a doll that was obviously treasured by her long ago "mommy."
