This 3 7/8 inch long bathing beauty, circa the early 20th century, is incised, “Germany//766.” She is all bisque, lying on her side, and dressed in a white molded and painted white chemise with blue ballet slippers. Her facial features and blonde hair are also molded and painted. The amorous lady has a circular open hat on the top of her head. Purportedly, if a person would pour water into the hat hole, water would gush from the tiny holes in each breast/nipple. The figurine appears to be in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs except for a spot on the inside of the right knee. I believe that this a mold flaw and does not reflect later damage but I will leave that judgment and decision to the future owner. This is a humorous curiosity from the Victorian period that would add some zest to any doll or bathing beauty figurine collection

FURTHER INFORMATION ON OUR LAYAWAY POLICY: If you make an offer on a doll asking for a discount of greater than 10 percent, please contact me before also requesting layaway. I want my customers to be able to purchase the dolls they love but it is not fair nor a realistic business practice to ask for both a large discount and layaway. I might be able to accommodate you but a large discount offer will be accepted as immediate payment with no layaway. Generous layaway terms with monthly payments are available as I want you to be able to own the doll of your choice. I actually do offer layaways for longer than the 180 days that Ruby Lane describes. Please ask me about the length that is possible. I also am somewhat flexible on the original down payment amount. Please email for options. Refunds will not be given for layaway payments; however, if you change your mind during a layaway, you may use payments made as a credit toward another doll. I think this is fair to both parties.
