This 24 inch tall carved wooden head doll, circa the 1950s, was created by NIADA artist Helen Bullard. The shoulderhead is carved wood with hand painted features. The lower arms are leather and the body is cloth. I believe the doll is in all original condition with a fabulous fashion outfit created from vintage and period fabrics. This doll was originally in a museum and I purchased her at an auction of the museum's holdings. The doll is in good condition. There is a slight rub on the nose that may have been repainted with a very small dab of paint. The clothing has some age discoloration and shelf dust. I love the costume. It is quite detailed down to the wire hoop skirt and striped stockings. She is a great doll with much character created by an early member of NIADA.
