This 12 inch tall doll, circa the 1930s-40s, was manufactured by the Alexander Doll Company in New York City. The little girl has a composition head with a swivel neck, a cloth body jointed at the shoulders and hips, composition bent limb lower legs, and composition hands. The doll has a closed mouth and tin sleep eyes. The auburn mohair wig is original. The clothing is all original including cotton lace trimmed underclothing, an organdy dress, and a pink cotton coat with matching bonnet and mittens. The dress and coat retain the original Madame Alexander cloth tags. The doll is in good clean condition with a sturdy cloth body. The composition shows some typical but stable and minor crazing and cracking. Little Genius, with all of her originality, even retains her original cardboard box. The box is somewhat fragile and the lid has some tears, breakage, and ripping of the cardboard. I can’t believe this little cutie still has her original mittens!
