This 9 inch tall doll, circa the 1920s-1930s, is created of felt and cloth stockinet. The monk has a molded felt face with painted facial features and white mohair for a wig. His robe and oversized shoes are created from brown wool felt. He is undoubtedly of German origin and in good clean condition. He may be a cloth character created by Kammer & Reinhardt but there are no markings to validate this thought. I saw the happy religious fellow at a flea market in Neudstadt, Germany, and decided that he needed to come home with me. I couldn’t resist that smiling expression.
