This 12 ½ inch tall doll, circa the second half of the 19th century, has a green glass sand filled bottle for the base. The head and torso are created from a brown knit stocking while the arms are black cotton sateen fabric. The facial features are hand embroidered with pearl button eyes and white ring earrings. The lady wears an antique red cotton print dress. The head has some wear to the knit stocking and the dress has a few small holes and tears. The old bottle is in good condition but has no labels to assist in identification. I love these old folk art pieces and can see this included in a doll collection or possibly as a charming addition farmhouse kitchen décor.
