This 25 inch tall doll, circa the 1850s-60s, was created in Paris, France, by Claude Blampoix. The doll has a 5 ½ inch tall china shoulder head and a kid leather body. She also has blue glass set eyes, her original cork pate, and a curly white later vintage skin wig. The head is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The white kid leather body, that certainly seems original to the head, has a few leather patches and some discoloration but is sturdy. The doll wears antique lace trimmed underclothing and a beautiful period antique dress. Completing the costume is a straw hat with feather and lace decoration. The doll wears cotton socks but has no shoes. This is a fabulous Poupee Peau doll that is particularly early and was created for a very limited number of years. She comes from a private collection where she has resided, as a treasured possession, for many years.
