This 10 inch tall baby doll, circa the early 20th century, has a ecru soft stuffed stockinette body. The face is a covered with a very fine batiste fabric with an oil lithographed facial features. They are so delicately rendered that, at first, I thought the features might have been hand painted. The doll wears her original clothing including ecru socks, white batiste lace trimmed underpants, and a yellow lace and ribbon trimmed cotton batiste dress with matching baby bonnet. There is some slight age discoloration to the costume as well as a few tiny holes. The ribbon around the right wrist is also missing. This sweet doll is reminiscent of the lithographed face Babyland Rag dolls of the same period. She would be darling displayed in the arms of a larger doll or with some of her Babyland Rag doll contemporaries.
