This 14 inch tall doll, circa 1912, was manufactured In Germany by Gebruder Heubach. The girl has a bisque socket head and a ball jointed composition body. The head, with a character face, intaglio eyes, and a pouty expression, has a fabulous white molded bonnet. It is decorated with hand painted flowers around the border. The head is incised, on the neck, “2//7977//Germany” accompanied by the Heubach sunburst insignia. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The ball jointed body is in excellent condition with the original finish. The young girl wears a completely original charming costume. She even retains her original shoes. I do not believe that the clothing has ever been removed from this doll and, to retain such pristine originality, I would hope that the future owner would also leave the costume untouched on this sweet doll. I purchased this doll in Germany from a private collection. I fell in love at first sight with her character expression, the bonnet, and her fabulous originality.
