Gebruder Heubach German Bisque Head Character Doll
This 11 ½ inch tall doll, circa the early 20th century, has a 3 inch solid dome head manufactured, in Germany, by Gebruder Heubach. The character doll shoulder head has a closed pouty mouth an intaglio eyes. The back of the head has the impressed Heubach sunburst mark and the word, “Germany.” There is also a mold number but it is illegible. The doll has a blue print cloth body and legs with china lower legs and beige cotton arms with bisque lower arms. I believe the blue print may be the original body for the doll but that the arms and china lower legs are later replacements. The head is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The little boy wears a two piece hand sewn ecru cotton outfit.
