Heinrich Handwerck German Bisque Head Doll Mold 99
This 21 inch tall doll, circa the 1890s, has a bisque socket head and a composition ball jointed body. The dolls sold by Handwerck have bisque heads manufactured by Simon & Halbig. This doll definitely needs some love. The head is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs but does need a pate, wig, and glass eyes. The back of the head is incised, “11 ½ //99//DEP//Germany//H.//3.” The composition body is original to the doll and retains the original finish except for a few cracks and losses to the top layer of paint. The bisque on this doll is quite lovely and, with some care by her new owner, she could be a beautiful doll.
