This 20 inch tall doll, circa the third quarter of the 19th century, was manufactured in England. She has a poured wax turned shoulder head, lower arms, and lower legs. Her cloth body is jointed at the hips and knees. The doll has blue glass set eyes and a blonde mohair wig that is with strands individually inserted into the wax. The wax is in good condition except for the right arm. It has either been replaced or discolored from possibly excessive heat. The body is also in good sturdy clean condition with some age discoloration. This staining is very much exaggerated in photos. The doll wears an antique cotton print dress and a white cotton chemise. I also have a pair of socks to protect her wax legs but I like to be able to see those wonderful wax feet and toes. I love the face, blue eyes, and serious expression of this young girl of wax.
