This 18 inch tall doll, circa the late 19th century, is created from beige cotton cloth and is jointed at the shoulders, knees, and hips. She has an ink drawn face and black carpet type fabric hair. The doll wears a wonderful antique cotton print dress with red and pink flowers. She also wears white cotton lace trimmed pantaloons. The lower legs of the doll are created with burgundy color cotton to simulate stockings. She also has brown fabric around the ankles that looks like the tops of shoes. The doll is sturdy and clean. The dress, with some wear and a few breaks and holes in the fabric, is also quite clean and the color is bright. There is something quite appealing and elegant about this doll made by an artisan of the past.
